Kind of a Big Deal26.05.2009
Hi, I'm Phil Gazaleh from Canada and I'm kind of a big deal. Or so my own dilusions dictate.
I spent a full day travelling from a mostly thawed Canada to a beautiful springtime in Kandersteg. Only two months ago I bid farewell to KISC and the wonderful winter I had as a Short Term Staff member. It's truly amazing how different the Kandersteg valley is in Spring compared to Winter. I can't even begin to describe all the shades of green that hide amongst the trees - and I'm from Canada. Aside from water and rocks, green trees are all we've got.
My work as Reception Assistant began as expected with a few days of training and recaps. The Reception Manager, Felipe, was on vacation when I arrived so I was pretty lost at first but the Administrative Assistant Irakqui took me under his wing and showed me the basics of the Reception area.
The training went by in a flash; I met Katherine and Joana for the first time and was reunited with Sang Ho from my Winter season and Adriana who was a helper during Ski Week 8. It was great meeting new people and having old friends with me at the training sessions.
By now, we've all settled into our new positions and we're all looking forward to the Kander-Lodge opening and the Supporters/Members Weekend
2009 next weekend.
Hope to see you there (or sometime in the not-so-immediate future).
