Ground Floor - Week #6 and #7: White Wonderwalls30.10.2009
Here we are Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for a new story from the mighty Ground Floor of the Old Chalet. The renovation is continuing at full speed captained by our, also mighty, Paul (UK) - Building Coordinator.
The plaster-board job has been finished and now the Pinkies are focusing on electrical pipes which are running through rooms and corridors. Most of the light boxes have already been fitted too and soon we will move on the next step, which mean to put in the lights themselves.
While Paul's crew is continuing their "electrifying" job and at the same time getting started in the ex Eco Room and ex Programme Office, an external company started plastering the walls with the marmoran.
Thanks to them, never mind that the first snow melted away, we still have the chance to enjoy some briliant white, bright and immaculate views: the walls all around the former Old Main Hall, Chimney Room and Chalet Shop. The result is even nicer as new bright windows and a new door have been fitted in the area on the front of the Chalet. All the ceilings are also getting frosted with the white marmoran and soon it will be the turn of the Reception Area.
Today the new wall, which we lovingly call the "fish tank wall", is being fitted. This wall separates part of the ex Old Main Hall into the new Administration Office.
Oh yeah, things are pretty busy in the Ground Floor, we are all doing our part to get things ready. Paul and the STS are the ones hands on and the most likely to have a dusty white face at the end of the day, but then it was a real team effort to download the office equipment delivery yesterday. I leave to your imagination of which company the equipment is from... and I invite you to keep an eye on kisc.ch for the next post!
