Grüezi mitenand! I am Patricia from Switzerland, and I have the honor to be the last smile of the week for the summer season! This might actually not be a reason for smiling if you think about it, right? I am leaving this wonderful place in a few days, and I will have to say goodbye to so many friends… BUT this is a blog about smiling, so I will tell you how I am smiling and laughing and being happy, even if it might seem sad to be the last smile of the week for this season!
Here are my three best pieces of advice for being happy in any circumstance:
- Be crazy! Why not introduce a “Pink Eyebrow Monday”, “Tattoo Tuesday”, “Weird Socks Wednesday” and “Crazy Hair Thursday” to make the last week at KISC a bit more special and fun? I can especially recommend the pink eyebrows - they turn a normal day into such a colorful thing!
- Live in the present! I try to enjoy every single second here at KISC, be it at work when we are having a singing competition whilst cleaning toilets, or be it in the evening when I look at the most beautiful sky filled with stars and spot one or even two shooting stars. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present!”
- Dance! I am the most horrible dancer - people used to laugh at my dancing skills - but here at KISC I dance anyways. It makes me happy to dance along to a good song, and seeing other people smiling because my moves are so weird and crazy is such a satisfying feeling, I promise!
I hope that reading my advice will draw a smile on your face; if yes, I succeeded at my job of being smile of the week!
