This week saw some great progress on the Kander-Lodge and the installation of a chimney in the Frack Haus on the Campsite.
The Kander-Lodge, which is due to open at the end of May, was busy with workers from various companies working on the electrics, plumbing, heating, carpeting and tilling. In addition to all these people the KISC staff were busy working on the flat roof area, painting and starting the first cleaning of the bedrooms. With 2 weeks to go to the opening there is lots to do!
On the Campsite Marc Lombard, Chairman of the KISC Foundation, accompanied by some Rovers Scouts from nearby Belp installed a 2.5 metre square chimney hood for the Frack Haus. This makes the Campsite Shelter much more useable and into a great meeting point for Scouts staying on the Campsite.
Also this week 4 new Long Term Staff started their work at the centre. The Campsite Manager and Assistant, Michael (DE) and Alex (GB), started preparing for the thousands of guests due over the summer. Tine (DK) started her job as Shop Manager by making orders and meeting with suppliers and Jean (ZA) the new High Adventure Assistant began work by preparing the climbing equipment for summer activities. Everyone at the centre is busy making sure all will be ready for the start of summer season.
Welcome to KISC! Come and live your dreams!
