I´m Ben from the United States and I am a camp person. My past ten summers I have worked at my local scout camp; the amount of maroon staff shirts that I currently own is ridiculous. Almost as soon as Autumn begins, I am already counting down the weeks until I am living in a tent in the Furnace Hills of central Pennsylvania.
Two summers ago, we hosted an international staff member from Bangladesh. Although he had never been to KISC himself, he had talked about going some day and eventually got me interested in seeing the Centre for myself. I know I couldn´t pass up the opportunity to basically work at a camp for three months.
In short, that´s the story of how I got here. Now that I am in Kandersteg, I am loving every second of it. I still can´t believe that I´m living in the Alps for three months. The friends that I have made here are some of the best that you could ever ask for. And while I still have a drawer full of maroon shirts (for what is, and I don´t mean to brag, the best camp EVER), I am very honored to add a pink one to my collection as well.
