Hey! My name is Tina, I am from Germany and I am one of the awesome seven Shorties of Winter 2013.
I am here a little over a week and already Smile of the Week! This might raise the question: Why am I smiling all the time? Well, there are many answers to it:
1) As it is not my first time at KISC, because I have already been a Helper in green twice, I love being back here and finally have the time and the opportunity to live the dream in pink. It is so good to meet people I have been working with before and became friends with, as well as to meet new people, get to know them and become friends very easily. This is one oft the best things that happen here. Very often you can find me with someone else getting the giggles and we can´t stop laughing for a long time.
2) Another thing that makes me smile a lot is the surroundings. I love the mountains and especially when they are covered in snow and the sun shines a lot. Kandersteg itself is such a nice village and invites you to feel at home easily. We had to explore it on D-Day by walking around in silly costumes and finding important spots around the village.
3) The best things in winter are the activities you can do during it. Since our training week, we tried out lots of activities some of which I have never done before, such as curling and snowshoeing. It is amazing when you snowshoe through the valley or also up to Oeschinensee in really deep snow and run around there, play silly games and jump from rocks into fresh powder snow. But always be careful! There might be someone starting a snowball fight!
The best thing about this winter wonderland here is that you can ski basically every day if you want to. Either you grasp the opportunity to do some runs in your lunch breaks at Oeschinensee or you can explore the different big ski resorts around the area.
Anyways, I am looking forward to a season with a lot of fun, sun, snow and unexpected things happening and having an amazing time at KISC.
