What is going on in this place?
Last week, when I was working in house (we were cleaning the bedrooms in the tower), I cycled over the campsite to go for a check in in the chalet. However I really appreciate a cycle ride every now and then, I was enjoying it more than normal. I had some music on, as usual, and was looking around the campsite. The nature looks really different from when we came here. The snow melted a lot and the grass looks greener than before. I really was enjoying the surroundings.
But, that was not the only thing I did. I was also thinking about my life at here at KISC. My life as a shortie is what I would like to share with you.
In the morning, when my alarm starts to beep, I often think: 'Ah! It is 7 o'clock already! Time to get up!' However, I always try to snooze for a bit longer, at some point it really is time to get up. 'Be always smiley when you wear pink' was what they said in our training week. A tough job, was what I thought hearing that sentence, as you might understand I am not a morning person. But, when I put my pinks on in the morning, I smile automatically.
It took me some time to understand what is going on in this place. Why does pink make me smile? And is it only the pink that makes me smile? Sadly enough, my cycle ride wasn't long enough to find an answer for those questions, but good chats with the other pinkies gave me a clear view.
Yes, we are from different places all over the world. Yes, we have different opinions and visions about life. And yes, that might give some difficulties sometimes. But can you imagine how much I have learned from all those different people? It makes me happy to learn something new at least every day. It makes me smile to have fun with all those different people. It makes me smile that all those new and different people feel like family.
Let's go the long way home!
Let's go for some life lasting memories!
