An inspiration from KISC
When hearing about KISC and the opportunity to become a Pinkie, I had no plans for my sabbatical year. I took the chance and applied and it has turned out to be a life-changing experience.14.04.2016
Everyday at KISC you'll have the opportunity to gather new impressions. Impressions that is build up by amazing Pinkies, friendly guests, who enjoy a little talk now and then, a beautiful view and much more. It gives me inspiration:
Inspiration to take home, inspiration to make the world a better place, inspiration to keep working with international scouting.
I want to improve our current act on recycling in my scout association. The inspiration comes from KISC's recycling centers, colorful posters and the knowledge about environment, that many of the Pinkies here posses. I want to transfer this knowledge to the future generation of scout leaders and Pinkies.
The world can be a better place, but how can scouting support this? Last week I saw an article about a Danish scout group, who held a free event for all of the local refugees. That's so cool, and even though it "only" effected 30 people, it was still a success that many people can learn from.
In Denmark we have five different association, and it's difficult not to create a bit of competition between the association. In 2012, and again in 2017, we will all stand together in Spejdernes Lejr, a camp for all scouts in Denmark, no matter the color of the uniform. If the above-mentioned can happen, everything can. So let's make the world a better place - together!
The opportunities for the future is never ending, and by staying at KISC, these opportunities have been more and more clear to me. I want to keep working with international scouting, and I've already planned must of this years adventures. I'll be attending Roverway in France and Sangam's 50th Birthday: Celebrate, Create, Change.
I hope to see you to one of the events or here at KISC of course. Your opportunities is neverending, so seize the moment to become a Pinkie now!
