Spending 3 months of my life in such a beautiful place, with people from all over the world united by one simple thing...Scouting. It's truly amazing what we can/have accomplished here! I would recommend it to anyone to come and experience!

The Pinkies are a bunch of crazy people, volunteering at KISC. I was a winter shortie, we went out skiing with guests, we built igloos and we went snowshoeing.
On one evening we went night sledding in Adelboden. That was really fun, because it was so foggy that you couldn't see anything. And there were almost no lights on the sledrun! It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Doing everything from cleaning to teaching guests how to play curling! Every day offers something new!

Running up and down the mountains, hiking and climbing, having the best time at the upper hut with my climbing-family. Doing something awesome everyday and taking part in campfires and washing up parties.

KISC changed my life. That's the short of it. I had an amazing summer with new friends from all over the world, who taught me something new everyday and made me laugh at least five times a day. I'm a different and better person for my time here. Also, no task is boring at KISC. Every task imaginable is fun and enjoyable with Pinkies, as the music is loud and the singing is louder!

At KISC, everything is awesome. From cleaning toilets, guiding hikes and climbing in the alps. It is all part of the magic of the permanent mini-jamboree! If you haven't been to KISC, don't hesitate, do it!

I worked on the campsite, which was amazing already though a few things still stand out, such as giving out shovels and pallets for guests late in the evening when the rain got so heavy things started to flood and some could have used their tents as pools. Being powered by chocolate, good company and endless thanks kept us smiling even when soaked through. Or finding still usable chocolate spread from the rubbish and digging into it on coffee breaks. Many other staff though that was disgusting but we got quite used to it and saw these things as rewards for sorting out the recycling. At the end of our season we found coloured plastic wrap from the rubbish and dressed one of the Long Terms staff in it. Apparently it wasn’t the comfiest thing you can wear but certainly kept you clean when pressure washing the toilets.

All in all, the Kandersteg International Scout Centre is a stellar place to work and live, good friends, great scenery and a wonderful time.

Are you thinking about becoming one of the Pinkies? If the answer is "YES", the best way is to join us. KISC ----Live it and you will love it. It is amazing that I can be here to enjoy my life for three months. There is no doubt that it is a memorable time in my life. Life in KISC is wonderful!!!
Jenny (HK) - Winter Staff 2009
When at day-off, I am used to going skiing. Actually, this is my first time to ski, but really enjoying it. I am so excited. I won't be able to sleep tonight.
Sang Ho (KR) - Winter Staff 2009
KISC cannot be put into the past so easily that's for sure! I will most certainly be back and I encourage you all out there to do the same!
Indi (UK) - Winter Staff 2009
Yesterday, we had a barbeque party! Fire, barbeque, songs, drinks and friends!! It's perpect, isn't it? I'm really expecting the rest of time in Kandersteg to be as amazing!
Ah Ruem (KR) - Spring Staff 2009
This summer has been absolutely amazing - the experiences I'm having here at KISC are like nothing I've ever had before. Where else do you meet a group of 60 or so strangers from 27 different countries, and spend pretty much every waking moment with them for three months? But, fear not Kandersteg, in the words of Arnold... 'I'll be back'.

I`ve also been wondering how much you can enjoy your life in a small village in the middle of the Alps? A lot, I can tell you! Life here has been unbelievable, enjoyable and full of surprises. I`ve got a great opportunity to experience something I`ll remember my whole life.
