ALEXANDROS (GR) - RECEPTION MANAGER
Gia Hara! I am Alexandros from Greece and I am back working at the Centre after 10 years since my Short Term Staff season as the Reception Manager! It is quite exciting to be back and see that although much of the structure has change since I left the Centre in 2000 the Dream of Kandersteg is continuing to be alive! You should come and live the Dream too!!
ANDREW (AU) - ASSISTANT PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
G´day! Im a vegatarian adrenaline hunter, but crikey! Safety is the most important thing! My favourite food is roast wallaby dipped in kangaroo sauce with a sprinkleing of koala. Don´t knock it till you tried it! My hobbies include tying my kangaroo down, eating rosti and downhill snooker. I've also invented the "goodwalk", that is like Michael Jackson's famous "Moonwalk", but forwards.
BENTO (PT) - AUTUMN 2010
The dream? Climb up all of these mountains. Love to travel, hiking, rock climbing and camping. No beer, no wine just iced tea please. It's a pleasure to be here and we'll be part of the best Pinkies team ever!
CAZ (IE) - ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR
I am the Director's personal assistant 1.5 days a week. I generally spend that time reminding him of all the things he has forgotten, walking around the Centre trying to look important and dodging the other SMT in case they want to give me any more work. I also like to hang out in the mountains from time to time.
CHRIS (UK) - GROUNDS ASSISTANT
onfident loud mouthed Brit loves animals, I have a English Springer Spaniel (Willow), at the moment I am also nursing a black stray cat back to health. Enjoy Skiing, Rock climbing, Hiking & Sailing. Also Enjoy a good day or two or three or even a week of manual work, maybe that’s why I enjoy grounds so much.
CHRISTINE (DK) - AUTUMN 2010
Halløjsa, I'm Christine from Denmark. I love hiking, climbing, soapbubbles and colours! You will often here me singing random songs though I'm a terrible singer - at least I admit it.
CHRISTOFFER (NO) - AUTUMN 2010
I'm Christoffer the quiet Norwegian guy. My future plans are: learning some German, meeting new people and having fun doing it.
CIARA (IE) - CAMPSITE MANAGER
So after a busy summer it’s nearly time to go home back to Dublin. My highlights have been making friends with all the amazing staff and of course working on the campsite where I get to meet all the guests and see how each country does scouting.
CONNY (NL) - MARKETING MANAGER
I'm Conny from the Netherlands. Together with Lou I am responsible for the website, newsletters, brochures, and a lot of other marketing activities. I love the wonderful mixture of living in a small Alpine village and working together with the international staff here at KISC.
ELIANE (CH) - CATERING SUPERVISOR
Grüssech, I'm the Swiss Catering Supervisor working part-time at the Centre. In the rest of my time I work as a teacher and local politician in the nearby town of Spiez. After all that, when I can find the time, I love to go skiing, climbing and enjoy a nice massage.
GEMMA (UK) - CATERING ASSISTANT
I'm thankful for laughter, except for when milk comes out my nose.
HANNES (SE) - HIGH ADVENTURE ASSISTANT
I'm running the High Adventure Programme and I make sure our guests get a great time in the mountains. This involves looking good and changing my beanie about 3 times a day.
JENS (IE) - INTERNAL SERVICES DIRECTOR
My name's Jens and I'm the Internal Services Director. In between looking after the Internal Services work (can you figure out what I do?), I try and climb, ski, hike and enjoy the nightlife in Kandersteg. I was STS in Summer 2004, Campsite Manager in 2005 and 2007 Project Director in 2006/07. I come from Dublin in Ireland were I am part of the 47th Dublin (Ballybrack) Scout group.
JOHAN (SE) - AUTUMN 2010
Hej, hej! I am the Swedish part of the STS. Normally, when I am home in Sweden, I enjoy having cups of tea and playing hide and seek in my local IKEA.
KASPAR (CH) - ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Hi, I am Kaspar from Aarau, Switzerland.
As Administration Assistant I make sure all the financial issues are okay and I also explain non-Swiss people which Swiss coin is what, and no - the colorful bills in the till are not Monopoly money, we use them to buy things here in Switzerland! When I’m not hiding behind a huge pile of paper behind my desk, I like to translate things from English to German, have conversation involving wild-gesticulation, sing along with the radio nostalgic-like Swiss German songs. I also like cheese and I put it on top of everything possible. I can’t believe that some people think we eat too much cheese here at the centre - cheese is never enough!!

Hi, I'm Kate from Delnigy Rover Crew in Melbourne, Australia. I enjoy camping, working on Gang Shows and lots of music! Looking forward to an amazing three months at KISC!
LENE (DK) - BOOKKEEPER
I am Lene from Denmark. I am responsible for the bookkeeping at the Centre. I live in Brig-Glis with my two boys and I only come to Kandersteg once a week. I find it very interesting working together with a international staff team. When I am not in Kandersteg I am working for a Ski Company, playing with my kids, doing sports or travelling around the world.
LIZ (UK) - AUTUMN 2010
From Worcestershire in the UK, Liz has taken three months off work to be at Kisc. She loves the freedom of being in the mountains and laughing a lot. Described by her work mates back at home as 'annoyingly positive', Liz loves turning everything into something good and her favourite words are 'excellent, fantastic and cool'!!
LOU (IT) - PR & MARKETING ASSISTANT
Hey hey, I am Luisa (but you can call me "Lou") and I come from Sicily, Italy! I like reading, going to the cinema, shopping accessories and inventing creative homemade face masks. I am also very good in singing silly "sticky" song and in writing to-do lists.

MAGDALÉNA (CZ) - GUEST SERVICES DIRECTOR
Ahoj! I am Magdaléna from Prague, Czech Republic. Being the Guest Services Director, I work to ensure that all the guests enjoy their stay and have wonderful time at KISC. In my free time I love to go skiing and cross-country skiing, hiking, watching movies, reading books or having a nice cup of tea.
MARILIA (BR) - AUTUMN 2010
Hello! I'm Marilia, from Brazil! I'm 19 years old and I love animals, especially horses and dogs! In my country I've never seen a sheep while here I could see it just outside my window! I love pasta and fruits... and, I never forget the dessert! I love desserts! I really enjoy going to the theater and to the cinem. My favourite movie is 'Juno'. In my free time, I like to listen to music, my favourite band is called Titãs.
MARK (NL) - DIRECTOR
I have been in Switzerland for the past nine years. I like to read and go to the cinema and concerts. I am the proud owner of three beautiful full bred Golden Retrievers answering (well most of the time) to the names of Pickles, Bonk and Pepper. If you can not find me in my office I could be anywhere at the Centre or in the Tearoom eating cakes. I will step down as Director and leave KISC on 13th November 2010 but will continue to work for the World Organization in Geneva.
MATT (UK) - ASSISTANT PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
Matt is the English version of Andrew. Which is handy because he has the same job. If you get sick of hearing about veggiemite, kangaroos and easter bilbys but still need advice about Programme then turn to Matt. Matt enjoys climbing, films with dinosaurs and earning Man Points but really hates shoes.
MICHAEL (DE) - MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
You can spot him around the Chalet fixing something, organizing the recycling or replacing light bulbs most of the time. In his free time he loves having sandwiches party, watching Legally Blond and trim his mohawk.
NALAKA (LK) - HOUSE MANGER
Aubowan, I’m Nalaka from Sri Lanka! I love eating oranges with salt'n'pepper - and no it's not weird. I like hiking and climbing and if it’s bad weather I enjoy sleeping late or cooking spicy food.
RAHEL (CH) - SENIOR HOUSE MANAGER
I am Rahel from Switzerland. Normally you find me making sure that everything is clean and nice in the Centre, but there will be also times you will spot me snowboarding, reading books or knitting hats!
RAQUEL (ES) - AUTUMN 2010
I admit that when I first arrived with the Spanish Work Party some magic enbraced me. I met amazing people that certainly changed my life! I´m now living a dream in an incredible place and waking up every morning knowing that each day will be unique!
RIIKKA (FI) - SHOP MANAGER
Hei, I’m Riikka from Finland. I like eating lactose free yogurt, knitting and baking some finnish bread whenever possible. On my days off I like to escape to discover the mountains, that’s always good fun!

Hi, I´m Susi from Switzerland. I love it when people laugh and here we have a lot to laugh. Come and visit us then we do some jokes together. Fun fun fun...!!
TIM (UK) - CATERER
Hi! My name is Tim and I am the Caterer from the UK. I have been at the centre for over 18 months now. In my free time i enjoy skiing, climbing and parading around my flat naked.
TOM (IE) - PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
Hey, I'm Tom from the west of Ireland and I'm the Programme Director. This means that I work in making sure that we provide the best activities and experiences to our guests; whether that is throwing them into crevasses or exciting games around the Centre. In my free time I like to do things - mainly outdoors and involving mountains!
Olave likes: flattening flowers around the Chalet by sleeping on them, practise diving in fountains, killing insects and hanging out at lunch time with Nalaka. Olave dislike: served meals, Sugarbabes hits and kids in general.
A life changing decision has been taking: Bonk is moving to live in where he will be able to study and practise his Latin American dance moves. Bye bye Bonk, we all wish you a great time!
Still single, enjoys simple life and likes to keep fit with lots of physical exercise.
Sweet and amber-coloured like honey, Pepper specialities are running around, playing in the water, cuddling and cleaning up is bowl of food light-speed.
