Dear fellow Pinkies!

Today is a very special day for all of us, more than 40 million Scouts and 10 million Guides, because we celebrate the day in which Lord and Lady Baden Powell came into this world to fill it with so much happiness! Without Lord Baden Powell and his dream of the Permanent Mini Jamboree, I wouldn’t be writiing this newsletter to you. On behalf of the World Scout Centre we wish you a Happy Founder's day! We are thinking of you all!

Along with our wishes, we have also some KISC news!

Supporters & Ambassadors Weekend

Do you want to become an Ambassador of KISC? A person who is involved in the promotion of KISC and supporting marketing activities in your country? The best promotion of all is from people who know the Centre best - the Ex-Staff!

We would like to invite you for our Supporters & Ambassadors Weekend, free of charge at KISC from the 15th until 17th of April 2016. You or your Scout friends involved in Scouting (preferably) on the national level, can still apply until the 6th of March. All the information and the registration forms are available on our website www.kisc.ch/saw.

From a Pinkie to a Bronze Wolf!

As we walk up and down the stairs of the Chalet, pictures of our past staff hang on the walls, smiling and reminding us of the strength of international scouting.

MARC LOMBARD, Camp Director from 1984 until 1992, has many pictures hanging on the wall, but most importantly he has done a lot of work that enabled Kandersteg to develop so much. Marc has recently been awarded the highest award in World Scouting, the BRONZE WOLF AWARD. It is an honour to congratulate Marc, on behalf of KISC, on this well-deserved achievement!

KISC is proud to have Marc as a very important part of our history! Thank you Marc for your lifetime dedication to Scouting and congratulations!

Pinkies at Events

Do you want to help KISC during summer and at the same time enjoy an international event? We are offering you a great opportunity to combine these! We still need a few Pinkies to help us run a stand and activities at the Central European Jamboree in Poland from the 4th to 14th of August 2016! If you are interested and want to know more contact us at pr@kisc.ch as soon as possible, latest 20th of March.

Saying goodbye and welcome!

After 3 years being our Guest Services Director, Salla (FI) is leaving at the beginning of March. During her time, Salla contributed a great deal to the development of the Centre, managed 4 departments, organised big events and gave her heart to all she was doing. We are thankful for all the great work and dedication Salla brought to KISC and we wish her all the best in the future!

With Salla’s departure, the role of Guest Services Director will be filled by her successor Dylan Hunt, from Australia. Moreover, this week Anna Järvinen from Finland will join the Senior Management Team as a Staff Development Director. This is a new position, and Anna will take care of the daily staff management as well as of the training, recruiting, selection and coaching of our staff. We wish both of them lots of success in their positions!
