The World Scout Committee meets the KISC Committee
Last Friday evening, members of the KISC Committee & Board joined in for a new Staff Graduation ceremony; welcoming our 11 new Short Term Staff. It was just the beginning of a great weekend!
On Saturday, both bodies (Association & Foundation) met and discussed a wide range of topics related to the Centre's operation such as; the new Safety Policy, the closing of the financial year 2008 and the future development and investments in the Kander-Lodge. After a very productive day, they all enjoyed a traditional swiss Fondue Chinoise and a dessert buffet at Hotel Bernerhof in the village.
The next morning started with a big surprise for everybody: 5 members of the World Scout Committee came to Kandersteg to visit the World Scout Centre. Mr. Simon Rhee, vice-chairman of the World Scout Committee, informed us that he will be the new representative of WOSM on the KISC Committee (taking up the reserved seat for a member of the World Scout Committee). Following the introduction Thijs Stoffer, chairman of the KISC Committee, guided a special Chalet Tour for our international visitors.
The World Scout Committee members went back to Geneva around noon and this was also the closing of the first meeting of the KISC Committee and Foundation Board of this year. The afternoon found some of them enjoying the last day of skiing in Oeschinensee this season.
KISC likes to express its gratitude to the World Scout Committee for its interest in the Centre and also congratulates Luc Panissod for his appointment as Secretary General of WOSM, a possition that he had been already fullfilling on an interim basis since November 2007 with great success.
Welcome to Kandersteg! Come and live the dream!
